Description
The Department of Music presents the UMBC New Music Ensemble under the direction of Daniel Pesca.
This ensemble walks on the wild side! Participants study and perform a diverse collection of music written in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Experience ranges from duos through large ensemble works covering not only major repertoire of the 20th century but also improvisation, text pieces, and even music written by our own composition students. The program will feature:
Moondog (a.k.a. Louis Hardin) — Sandalwood (arr. Paul Ocone)
Daniel Pesca — Double Canon
Chris Benna — Remember
Freya Lily — Shiver (arr. Jax Kroll)
Terry Riley — In C
Steve Reich — Clapping Music
The ensemble includes Chris Benna, Austin Chaney, Jax Kroll, Paul Ocone, and Aaron Statham.
