Salon Trio

The Department of Music presents the Salon Trio, featuring clarinetist Robert DiLutis, saxophonist Noah Getz, and pianist Mary-Victoria Voutsas. Their program, entitled Influential Voices, explores the often-neglected chamber music of Black composers who helped to forge a path for future generations, including works by William Grant Still, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Yusef Lateef.

Robert DiLutis is professor of clarinet at the University of Maryland and in his sixty season as principal clarinetist of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. His work can be heard on the Delos, RM Records and Tonsehen labels.

Hailed as a “highly skillful and an even more highly adventurous player” (Washington City Paper) with “virtuosity, sensitivity, and beauty of tone” (Fanfare), Noah Getz has performed and lectured worldwide. He is a Musician-In-Residence at American University.

The visiting Artist in Residency for Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts, Mary-Victoria Voutsas is a “powerful” and “enthralling pianist” (Washington City Paper). She has toured extensively as a pianist and has performed at many notable venues, including the Kennedy Center.
