Public Workshop: "Doing Trans Oral History: Ethics, Politics, and Community-Building" at Impact Hub in Baltimore. This public workshop, led by Jenkins and Beam, is a practical introduction to the process of doing oral history. From intentional community-building, to envisioning projects, to conducting thoughtful and ethical interviews, this is a chance to learn more about the nitty gritty of oral histories and ask all the questions you may have.
(12/3, 2-4pm, at Impact Hub at 10 E. North Avenue, Baltimore)
Public Talk: "Building Power Through Documenting Trans Oral Histories" at Bird in Hand in Baltimore. In this public talk, Jenkins and Beam will share lessons from their work with the Tretter Transgender Oral History Project, reflecting on the power of storytelling to help build movements for justice that enable trans lives to flourish.
(12/3, 6-7:30pm, at Bird in Hand, 11 E. 33rd Street, Baltimore)
