Description
UMBC's Asian Studies Program is pleased to welcome American University's Dr. Yunwoo Song to campus for a discussion on morality and Confucianism.
Why do we try to be moral? Is it because we are all inherently moral? What was so unique in China that drove so many people to continue their faith in goodness of human nature for such a long time? Or was there in fact nothing so unique?
In this talk, Dr. Song explains the significance of Confucian discourse on human nature and considers some philosophical problems that arise from these views.
Please join us for this engaging discussion in the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery at 1pm on Wednesday, November 1. Refreshments will follow Dr. Song's talk.
