Joan S. Korenman Lecture

Emily Drabinski, President of the American Library Association

School and public libraries face unprecedented efforts to challenge and censor materials related to LGBTQ+ experience. Librarians across the country face adverse legislation, hostile board takeovers, and well-funded efforts to undermine their capacity to collect and share these stories.

Join American Library Association President Emily Drabinski for a conversation about the role libraries play in queer communities and the importance of fighting to preserve and expand these crucial public institutions.

Biography: Emily Drabinski is Associate Professor at the Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Studies.
