Description
The Center for Innovation, Research, and Creativity in the Arts (CIRCA) presents Playing with Climate Science: Scenes from a playwright’s CIRCA/IMET Artist Residency, featuring Susan McCully.
McCully, the CIRCA/IMET Artist in Residence for 2023–24, is a playwright, theatre-maker and associate professor at UMBC. Her award-winning plays about social justice and feminist queer aesthetics have been performed at universities; international fringe festivals; feminist and queer theatre festivals; and conferences both throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Actors will read scenes, and McCully will discuss her new play featuring the relationship between climate science and social justice. The work was developed through her year-long CIRCA residency at the Institute of Marine & Environmental Technology and is currently under development at World Builders Incubator, which brings solution-focused fictional entertainment to mass markets.
Admission is free, and lunch will be provided. Please r.s.v.p. by September 17 to reserve a space (a link to r.s.v.p. is forthcoming).
