Description
In June 2025, three UMBC choirs took part in an extraordinary summer performance tour through Europe. The UMBC Camerata, conducted by Lulu Mwangi, and UMBC Jubilee Singers and Gospel Choir, conducted by Janice Jackson, began with a concert in the beautiful city of Paris, and then headed to Prague to perform with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at the Summer Proms concerts.
The singers, consisting of music and non-music majors, staff, alumni and community members, joined forces with the Jeremy Winston Chorale and other talented singers to form a 100-voice American Choir. It was an opportunity for cultural exchange, with students learning about European history and architecture, and broadening global perspectives.
In this Choirs Homecoming Concert, the choirs will perform selections from their European tour, talk about their experiences, present photos and videos from the trip, and thank all the supporters who made this event possible.
