Description

When students evaluate each others' work, it empowers them to take responsibility for their own learning, engage more deeply with course material, and absorb the values of the discipline to apply them in their own work - in theory, at least.  In reality, students often resist the peer review/critique process. Their comments are superficial, and they complain that peer critique is a waste of time and that they would rather just hear what you, the instructor, think. If this sounds familiar, come listen to a panel of your peers reflect on why and how they use peer review/critique in their classes and how they help students develop their capabilities to assess work in the discipline. Panel members include Brian Kaufman in Music, Susan McCully in Theatre, Sally Shivnan in English.  Lunch will be provided.
