Support from the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, with Sonja Cendak
The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) nurtures and promotes a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable arts and cultural community essential to the region’s quality of life. Grants Program Manager Sonja Cendak will present on GBCA’s two programs that provide funding for individual artists: The Baker Artist Awards are awards of excellence that offer $90,000 in prize money per year; The Rubys Artist Project Grants gives grants of up to $10,000 to support the development of new creative work. Both programs are open to artists working in all disciplines.
The current Rubys grant cycle focuses on Performing Arts and Media Arts. Download the 2016 Grant Guidelines for complete details on how to prepare your application. The deadline for the current cycle is February 29, 2016.
Sonja Cendak is an arts manager with over 15 years experience in program management, exhibition design, and nonprofit administration. She has previously worked at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Los Angeles Craft and Folk Art Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has consulted and collaborated on projects for the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, the Venice Art Walk, and the California Museum of Photography. Sonja holds a B.A. from UCLA and M.A. from the University of California, Riverside.
