Peabody-UMBC Partnership in Innovation Concert

Description
Selected through a rigorous audition process, rising artists enrolled in the graduate program at Peabody explore innovative concert programming in this inaugural concert. They will take the audience through a first-hand musical experience that invites the audience to explore ideas, meaning, and inspiration behind the works presented in concert. The first part of this partnership will feature Teodora Adzharova, piano, and Mauricio Rey Gallego, cello.
The program will feature:
J. S. Bach - Sonata for Viola da Gamba no. 2 in D Major, BWV 1028.
L. V. Beethoven - 7 Variations on "Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen", WoO 46.
Johannes Brahms, Sonata for Piano and Cello No. 1, Op. 38
The artists will present three soirees, all at 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. in PAHB 141:
- October 19: Meet Mr. Gallego and Ms. Adzharova
- October 26: Master class with Mr. Gallego and Ms. Adzharova
- November 2: Innovative Concert program presentation
Admission is free.
The Peabody artists will be engaged with the UMBC community during the semester, working with UMBC’s undergraduate music majors, who will be mentored by both Peabody and UMBC faculty members.
