Description
During the 1980s, at Kass’s invitation, John Cage made repeated visits to the Mountain Lake Workshop, where he produced dozens of artworks.
Artworks and related materials by Cage will be on display in the Rotunda of the Albin O. Kuhn Library with Ray Kass informally presiding.
Ray Kass is Professor Emeritus of Art at Virginia Tech, and founder and director of the Mountain Lake Workshop, a collaborative, community-based art project drawing on the customs, and environmental and technological resources of the New River Valley and the Appalachian region. He is an internationally recognized artist whose work is represented by Garvey/Simon: ART ACCESS in NYC and the Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, Virginia
