Description
Each year, the English Department is interested in having more English students participate in the undergraduate research programs offered here at UMBC. Undergraduate Research Awards, in particular, provide up to $1,500 to undergraduate students to support their research or creative work with a UMBC faculty mentor on an original project. UMBC students of all years and disciplines are invited to apply as long as they will remain enrolled at UMBC long enough to complete the proposed work.
On Wednesday, October 25, 2016, from noon to 1:00 PM (in Sondheim Hall, Room 103), there will be an informal workshop with current and past URA mentors Dr. Lee Blaney of the Chemical, Biochemical, and Environmental Engineering department, Dr. Carolyn Forestiere of the Political Science department, and Dr. Luis Pinet-Peralta of the Health Administration and Public Policy department. At least one or two current or former URA Scholars will also be in attendance to discuss their experience in the program. Please consider attending this event and taking advantage of this excellent opportunity.
