Description
Green Dot is built on the premise that in order to measurably reduce the perpetration of power-based personal violence, including sexual violence, partner violence, or stalking, a cultural shift is necessary. In order to create a cultural shift, a critical mass of people will need to engage in a new behavior or set of behaviors that will make violence less sustainable within any given community. The “new behavior” is a green dot.
This extremely interactive session is great for you and your friends to:- Understand the impact of power-based personal violence on campus and in various communities
- Learn how to identify power-based personal violence and respond within the bounds of your strengths and limitations
- Practice newly developed skills to be prepared for enacting this in your daily life
- Meet new people and strengthen your connection to UMBC
Please make sure to RSVP and email Sara Khan at khan17@umbc.edu or Jacki Stone at j.stone@umbc.edu for more information!
