Date & Time

Description
In continuation of our Spring 2017 discussion series, Teaching Across Differences in the New Political Landscape, the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies is hosting a DACA workshop for faculty on Friday, October 6th at 2pm.
JoAnna Gavigan, an immigration lawyer and American Studies alumna, will speak to the legal issues surrounding the DACA program, and David Di Maria, the Associate Vice Provost for International Education at UMBC, will share information regarding UMBC policy and protocol surrounding DACA and immigration status.
There will be ample time for discussion to ensure we address as many faculty questions and concerns as possible. Gender and Women’s Studies will also be providing resources to faculty about how to broach these difficult conversations in the classroom, as well as material about other opportunities and events on campus.
