Description
"Speak[ing] Out for Banned Books": Countering Censorship and the Silencing of Stories in the Twenty-First Century
Throughout our history, books have been targeted for removal in libraries and schools for their content. Banned Books Week—September 23-29, 2018—aims to highlight the ramifications of censorship while also promoting the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox, unpopular, or taboo. Join us for this exciting and informative panel, to be moderated by Dr. Christopher Varlack, as we discuss censorship and the silencing of stories.
Light refreshments will be served.
