Description

CAHSS Information Session on Copyright issues
Monday, October 25th from 12-1pm

UMBC has established a policy on intellectual property to:

(1) assure that the benefits of University research and scholarship, which include intellectual property, are fairly and fully disseminated to benefit the public,

(2) create an environment that encourages and recognizes the creative efforts of faculty, students, and personnel, and

(3) generate resources to support the University’s primary mission to advance, preserve, and disseminate knowledge.

Get informed about the University’s policy on the Ownership of Intellectual Property including (1) Traditional Scholarly Works; (2) Collaborative and Joint Works; and (3) Teaching materials and Course Research Projects.

Attend a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session on Monday October 25th from noon to 1pm. The session is specifically for the benefit of CAHSS faculty and graduate students and is organized by the three Research Centers in CAHSS: The Center for Innovation, Research and Creativity in the Arts (CIRCA), The Center for Social Science Scholarship (CS3), and The Dresher Center for the Humanities.

Presentation by Wendy Martin Director, UMBC Office of Technology Development (OTD), and Krishna Gohel, Intellectual Property Coordinator. OTD is a division of the Office of the Vice President of Research (OVPR).
