RDRC Winter 2025 newsletter highlights research project from Public Policy faculty McLaren, Ali, and Miller
The latest issue of the Retirement and Disability Research Center Newsletter highlights new projects funded by the Social Security Administration, including one led by Public Policy faculty Dr. Zoë McLaren, Dr. Mir Usman Ali, and Dr. Nancy Miller.
Their project examines how the impact of COVID-19 on adults with disabilities, including prevalence, healthcare access and use, and employment.

The School of Public Policy at UMBC, in collaboration with the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, the University of Baltimore, and Westat, has been awarded a five year cooperative agreement from the Social Security Administration through its Retirement and Disability Research Consortium (RDRC) program. Our RDRC – Promoting Equity in Retirement, Disability and Health, is one of six RDRCs funded nationally and will support research, evaluation, and data development; and training and education on retirement and disability policy.
