INDS Student Receives Award to Study Abroad in Panama City

Joy Ware Studies Global Management in Panama City

Check Out Joy's Experience in Panama City:

What steps did you take to attend the Study Abroad program:
When I took the initiative to reach out to the IS 303 professor and explain that as an educational technology and cultural studies researcher, I wanted to write a proposal for an IS 400: Independent Study. Once I had written the proposal and it had been approved by the head of the department, I knew all I had to do was ensure that I had the funds to pursue this endeavor.

What did you use your award money towards:
I used the award money for transportation, which included, but was not limited to, the flight to and from Panama, the flight back, public transportation in Panama such as the Metro, which requires metro card points, Uber and taxi fees, and boat rides to and from the beaches.

How has this experience benefited you:
I have changed for the better as a researcher, student, and person.

Thanks to INDS:
I was able to afford this study abroad thanks to the INDS program. I am extremely grateful to all of the INDS faculty and staff who provided me with these funds, and by participating in this study abroad.

Thank you Joy for your experience.
