Baltimore Prohibition: Wet and Dry in the Free State


Michael T. Walsh (PhD, Public Policy, Class of 2012), had his first book published on December 11, 2017 by Arcadia Publishing/The History Press.  The book is entitled Baltimore Prohibition: Wet and Dry in the Free State and is a more condensed version of his doctoral dissertation purposely geared towards a more general readership.. 

Michael, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, is a historian who specializes in both twentieth-century U.S. history as well as local history. Michael majored in history and received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland. He obtained a master's degree in historical studies at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and subsequently earned his PhD at UMBC in public policy with a concentration in policy history. Michael currently teaches U.S. history as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County and is a grants and contracts manager and training coordinator in the Office of Sponsored Programs at UMBC. Michael’s wife Jennifer is also currently a Ph.D. student in the Public Policy program.
