Kimberly Moffitt is Promoted to New Rank

We are pleased to announce that after a year-long evaluative process the LLC Program's Director, Dr. Kimberly Moffitt, is being promoted to the rank of Professor, effective July 1, 2020.

Beyond the traditional quantitative and qualitative criteria for promotion used at UMBC and by our Language, Literacy & Culture Doctoral Program, all the evaluators echoed the external reviewers' sentiments that her scholarship is "rigorous," "original," and "important," highlighting her community-engaged and participatory-action work as a public intellectual and educational advocate.

Dr. Moffitt's research is in the area of race and gender representation in mass media and pop culture.
